From people I’ve worked with

In addition to her gifts as a visual designer, Makayla has what you can’t really teach: an eagerness to learn, curiosity, and a positive attitude. Despite being early in her career, she takes a mature approach to solving complex UX problems by asking smart questions and thoroughly researching. That’s a rare combination.

As COO, I worked closely with Makayla as she grew into owning design for our entire platform. She became an independent, self-sufficient leader whose judgment and decision-making I trusted deeply. I could bring her my ideas and opinions knowing she would thoughtfully challenge them, offer a clear perspective grounded in design principles, and help us reach a better outcome.

What made Makayla especially valuable was her commitment to improving the product beyond her design responsibilities. She contributed meaningfully to product and QA, and consistently stepped up on the biggest bottlenecks in delivery, whether they were in design or elsewhere. She navigated competing perspectives across product, engineering, and go-to-market with skill and professionalism.

I would hire her again in a heartbeat and confidently recommend her to anyone looking for a designer who will take ownership and make their product better.

Makayla is one of the greatest people I’ve had the pleasure of working with. She’s not only an excellent designer with amazing skills, but also a proactive, communicative, and fun teammate. She delivers some of the fastest UI mockups I’ve ever seen, without compromising on quality. Any team would be lucky to have her!

Makayla was amazing to work with on all the projects we worked on together. She has great professional and team awareness.

Makayla has the mind of a genius, and is beyond sweet! Working with her, she showed how she thinks outside the box and pushes new ideas! Anyone would be blessed to have Makayla helping design their UI/UX!

Makayla is one of the most collaborative and creative minds. It was a real honor to work with her and anyone would be lucky to have her on their team!

Makayla is an exceptional talent! What she delivers is always top notch, and her team player mentality is an asset to any team she is a part of!

I was able to work with Makayla on multiple large projects where she served as our only UX designer. I was always impressed by how quickly she would understand deep and complex workflows and translated them into clean designs. A quality that genuinely stands out to me is her ability to provide thoughtfulness and care to her work while delivering at a fast pace. Whether that is offering solutions through her designs, or mocking up iterations based on product discussions in real time, Makayla would adapt and create on the fly without forfeiting quality. Her attention to detail and high level of understanding make her an asset to any product team.
